Administration Team The Alcove admin team consists of Erica Pfister (Webmaster), Terry Holdcraft (Chief Programmer). Earl Jones remains our honorary Chief Advisor despite having passed away in 2004. System Details The Author's Alcove runs on a UNIX server, hosted by Host Excellence. For maximum compatibility with all systems and browsers, the site is constructed using Perl-CGI scripts. Thanks to the following sources for Perl-CGI information: Perl Services is a general resource for CGI-Perl scripts (many freeware examples available) CGI 101 provides online introductory CGI programming tutorials. CGI Library of useful functions (©1993-1999 Steven Brenner) let us take a few shortcuts in our programs (for which I'm eternally grateful!). We also use "email obfuscation" to mask email addresses on our pages and prevent spam crawlers from harvesting them. Thanks to alicorna.com for providing an online Email Obfuscator for public use! System Finances Money to cover annual server costs comes from member donations or through sales at Powell's City of Books.
